Hood Coach Brent Ayer Named President of Road Runners Club of America for 2008-09
Brent Ayer, head coach of Hoods men and womens cross country and track and field teams, has been named president of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Founded in 1958, the RRCA is a nonprofit organization comprised of over 700 running clubs across the country that promotes long distance running, both competitive and recreational.

Mary Washington senior Carly Hambley (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) repeated as the Womens Athlete of the Year, and UMW coach Stan Soper was honored by his peers as the Coach of the Year for the 13th time since 1994 as the 2008 CAC Womens Track & Field post-season honors were announced Friday.

The University of Mary Washington and Salisbury University have combined to win every Capital Athletic Conference track & field championship since 1993, and both schools have loaded up for a run at the 2008 championships, which will be held at York College Saturday (4/19), beginning at 10 a.m.

Wesley's Ashley Cox Named CAC Women's Track & Field Athlete Of The Week
Wesleys ASHLEY COX was named the Capital Athletic Conference Womens Track & Field Athlete of the Week for April 14, 2008, after placing second in three events in third in another at the Rowan Open over the weekend. Cox was second in the long jump (16-5 3/4), 100-meter dash (13.94), 100-meter hurdles (18.21) and third in the 200-meter dash (28.84).
