University of Mary Washington junior Becky Morse-Karzen and senior Natalia Fugate advanced to the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III doubles championship on Friday at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota, by defeating Vindya Dayananda and Marissa Lin of the University of Chicago in the round of 16. Morse-Karzen and Fugate won by a score of 6-2, 6-3.

In singles earlier in the day, Morse-Karzen jumped ahead early, but fell to Nicole Pontee of Vassar College, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Division III singles championship.
