Salisbury, St. Mary's And York Prevail In Monday's CAC Women's Tennis Playoffs
Salisbury, St. Mary's and York all successfully defended home court Monday in the first round of the 2008 CAC women's tennis playoffs.
Second-seeded Salisbury posted a 9-0 shutout against seventh-seeded Wesley and will join top-seeded Mary Washington as hosts for Thursday's conference semifinals. As the top seed, UMW drew a bye in Monday's playoff action.
The four-time defending CAC champion Eagles will host fourth-seeded York in one semifinal match Thursday (4/17) while the Sea Gulls will play host to third-seeded St. Mary's. York advanced with a 6-3 win over fifth-seeded Hood while SMC posted a 7-2 triumph over sixth-seeded Villa Julie on Monday.
The CAC Women's Tennis Championship match is scheduled for Saturday (4/19) at the home courts of the highest remaining seed (time TBA).
