Justine Wantz York Women's Swimming Sophomore York sophomore Justine Wantz received CAC Athlete of the Week accolades for the second time this season after leading the Spartans to a 148-106 victory over Randolph-Macon with a trio of wins. Wantz won the 100 and 200 backstrokes and also swam the leadoff leg on the winning 200 medley relay team. She won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.41 and the 200 at 2:11.68. Wantz leads the Spartan squad with nine individual wins. She owns the top times in the CAC in both events. Read More

Macey Nitchie Frostburg State Women's Swimming Senior Frostburg State senior Macey Nitchie was selected as the CAC Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive week after setting five school records, recording an NCAA B-Cut time and two of the top times in Division III at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. She won the 200-yard freestyle in a school record and NCAA B-Cut time of 1:52.45. She also finished runner-up and set another school record in the 100-yard freestyle in 52.06. Her 200 freestyle time ranks fourth nationally while her 100 freestyle time is sixth in the nation. Nitchie captured her third individual school record in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:17.36. She also contributed to a pair of relay school records, helping the 800-yard freestyle team to a time of 8:12.14 and the 400-yard freestyle relay to a mark of 3:42.65. Read More

Macey Nitchie Frostburg State Women's Swimming Senior Frostburg State senior Macey Nitchie was selected as the CAC Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row after sweeping her individual events against St. Mary's with wins in the 50, 100 and 500-yard freestyles. Nitchie, who is a perfect 17-for-17 in individual wins this season, finished first in the 50 (24.83), 100 (53.79) and 500-yard freestyles (5:26.20) for the Bobcats. Her 50 and 100 freestyle times rank atop the CAC, while her 100 time is 32nd nationally. She also contributed to a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:56.47. Read More

Macey Nitchie Frostburg State Women's Swimming Senior Frostburg State senior Macey Nitchie was tabbed as the CAC Athlete of the Week after sweeping her three individual events and helping the Bobcats collect their first-ever win over Salisbury in CAC action. Nitchie placed first in three freestyle events - the 50 (28.67), 100 (1:02.39) and 800-meters (10:06.99) and helped the 400-meter freestyle relay to a victory. Megan Murphy Mary Washington Women's Swimming Senior Mary Washington senior Megan Murphy was honored as the CAC Athlete of the Week after winning eight races in two Eagle victories over the weekend. On Friday at Frostburg State, she was a member of the winning 200 meter medley relay and 200 meter free relay. Individually, she took first in the 100 meter butterfly at 1:06.24 as well as the 400 freestyle at 4:46.96, as UMW topped Frostburg, Ferrum, and Roanoke. On Saturday, Murphy won two more relays and two more individual races as the Eagles defeated Division II Barton College. She was a member of the winning 200 yard medley and freestyle relays, and won the 200 butterfly as the Eagles finished 1-2-3 in the event. Murphy then won the 100 freestyle at 54.21. Murphy's 200 butterfly time ranks 12th nationally, while her 100 freestyle time ranks 31st. Read More

Morgan Alston Marymount Women's Swimming Junior Marymount junior Morgan Alston was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after breaking a school record and securing a pair of first-place finishes in the Saints' 112-91 victory over Frostburg State. Alston notched first in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:01.55, setting a new MU program record. That time also ranks 16th in Division III this season. She later placed first in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:01.72, and also claimed second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:09.80. Read More

Julia Geskey Mary Washington Women's Swimming Freshman Mary Washington freshman Julia Geskey was selected as the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning three events to help the Eagles defeat Gettysburg on Saturday. Geskey was the leadoff swimmer on the winning 200-yard medley relay that finished with a time of 1:51.38, and followed with individual wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 10:59.61 and the 200-yard backstroke at 2:12.04. Hayley Elizondo Marymount Women's Swimming Freshman Marymount freshman Hayley Elizondo was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after recording three individual victories and a top relay finish in the Saints' 155-107 CAC victory over Salisbury on Saturday. Elizondo cruised to victories in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.69), 200 breaststroke (2:34.11), and 200 IM (2:14.23), while also helping the Saints 400 medley relay (4:12.27) to gold. Read More

Anna Corley Mary Washington Women's Swimming Senior Mary Washington senior Anna Corley earned CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Eagles to the team title at the Gettysburg Invitational with four first-place finishes, including an NCAA provisional cut. Corley finished first in the 400 IM with an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:34.32, spearheading a 1-2-3 UMW finish in the event. She also won the 200 IM at 2:07.60 and contributed to the winning 800 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay squads. Her 200 IM time ranks 19th nationally, while her 400 IM is 32nd. Read More

Macey Nitchie Frostburg State Women's Swimming Junior Frostburg State junior Macey Nitchie was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after posting three of the top times in the CAC and setting four individual and two school relay records at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. Individually, she broke Frostburg State records and ranked among the top times nationally in the 50 freestyle (24.29; 25th nationally), 100 freestyle (52.87; 15th nationally), 200 freestyle (1:54.17; 14th nationally), and 1650 freestyle (18:44.23; 53rd nationally). Nitchie won all four of her events and set two new school records. She collected first-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:14.00), 50 freestyle (27.55), 400 freestyle (4:47.89; school record), and anchored the 200 freestyle relay (1:56.13; school record). Shannon Coryell Mary Washington Women's Swimming Senior Mary Washington senior Shannon Coryell was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after turning in the top times in the conference in the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly in dual meet victory over Marymount last week. Coryell won the 50 freestyle (24.91) and the 100 butterfly (59.77) with the top times in the conference and 52nd and 38th-best marks nationally, respectively. She was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay at 1:52.30 and the 200 freestyle relay at 1:42.09. Read More

Shannon Coryell Mary Washington Women's Swimming Senior Mary Washington senior Shannon Coryell was honored as the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after notching three individual and three relay victories in a pair of lopsided dual-meet wins for the Eagles. Against Randolph-Macon, Coryell won the 100 butterfly (1:00.82) and was part of winning relays in the 200 medley (1:53.71) and 200 freestyle (1:42.61). Against Frostburg State, Coryell picked up individual wins in the 50 freestyle (24.98) and 100 freestyle (54.19), and anchored the winning 200 medley relay (1:50.82). Maddy Mann York Women's Swimming Sophomore York sophomore Maddy Mann was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after recording two individual wins and a relay victory in the Spartans' season-opening win over Elizabethtown. Mann won the 200 freestyle by more than six seconds, finishing in 1:59.35. She also touched first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:16.84, defeating the second-place finisher by 12 seconds. Those times rank 21st and 16th in Division III, respectively, so far this season. Mann was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:59.74. Read More

Justine Wantz York Women's Swimming Sophomore York sophomore Justine Wantz earned CAC Athlete of the Week honors after earning a pair of individual wins and breaking a school record in the Spartans' sweep of Messiah and Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Wantz won the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.83, which established a new school record during the first competition of the year. She also won the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.21. Wantz was also a part of the 200 medley relay squad that finished second in the race. Her 50 and 100 backstroke times rank atop the CAC and 23rd and 24th nationally, respectively. Read More
