Five CAC Swimmers Headed To NCAA Division III Championships

Five CAC swimmers qualified to compete at the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's & Women's Swimming Championships, to be held March 21-24 at the Indiana Natatorium in Indianapolis.

The only CAC representative in the men's swimming championship will be Mary Washington freshman Alex Anderson.  He was recently named the 2012 CAC Men's Swimming Rookie of the Year after leading the Eagles to their 12th-straight conference championship.

On the women's side, four swimmers representing three teams were picked to compete at the national championships.

Two-time Women's Swimmer of the Year Anna Macedonia, a senior at Marymount, and St. Mary's junior Kelly Heyde, will both make their second-straight appearance at the national championship event.

Mary Washington will send two women's swimmers - senior Megan DeSmit and sophomore Amber Kerico, who was named the 2012 CAC Women's Swimming Co-Rookie of the Year.
