The Salisbury University women's soccer team lost a 1-0 contest against Wheaton (Mass.) College in the first round of the NCAA tournament at William Smith College on Saturday.
Wheaton's Kaitlyn Mawicke played a free kick into the box where Samantha Cronin got her head on the ball sending it past freshman goalkeeper Michelle Conrad in the 59th minute for the game-winning goal.
Salisbury led in shots, 13-9, shots on goal, 5-3, and corner kicks, 5-4.
Erin Cawley earned the victory in the net for Lyons, making five saves. Conrad took the loss, stopping one shot for the Sea Gulls.
