Stevenson Women's Soccer Captures NSCAA Team Ethics Gold Award; St. Mary's And Wesley Women's Squads Also Recognized

The Stevenson women's soccer team was one of only nine teams in college soccer, NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA or NJCAA, to receive the Gold Team Ethics Award from the National  Soccer Coaches Association of America for receiving no yellow or red cards during the 2009 season.

The award is the most prestigous honor handed out by the NSCAA and is given to those teams who complete the entire season without receiving either a yellow or red card.

The St. Mary's and Wesley women's squads were also honored by the NSCAA for their sportsmanship during the 2009 season with Silver Awards, presented to teams that receive five or less yellow cards and no red cards during the 2009 season.  A total of 45 teams claimed the Silver Award.

Sixty-eight teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
