Defending CAC champion Salisbury is ranked sixth and Mary Washington is 17th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2012 Division III preseason national rankings.
Salisbury finished the 2011 season with a 19-3 overall record, including an 8-0 mark in CAC play. The Sea Gulls defeated UMW 18-6 in the CAC title game for their ninth-straight CAC crown and 11th in the last 12 years.
