What is your
background in the sport you play? I have been
playing basketball for 15 years. I stated playing when I was five
years old and played for Forest Hill Rec. and advanced to Forest
Hill Travel. After attending Fallston Middle School, I began
playing for Fallston Rec. and Fallston Travel. I played AAU for the
Maryland Waves and then played three years of varsity basketball at
Fallston High School. I was a two-time all-county selection,
earning first team honors as a senior.
What is your
favorite spot on campus? My favorite spot on
campus is Sub Connection on the Greenspring campus. It is a great
place to meet friends to eat and just hang out.
What is the most
important societal issue facing college
students? The most important social issue
facing college students is peer pressure. Students can be easily
influenced by their friends in an environment where they are out on
their own for the first time. It is important to stand up for what
you believe in and not let others lead you in the wrong
direction.
What is your
major in college, and what is the most important thing you learned
in that discipline? My major is Accounting.
The most important thing I learned is that it is important to be
able to research and keep up to date on new issues and policies in
the business world.
Other than your
family members, who was the most influential person in your
life? The most influential person in my life is my
best friend Tara Galvin. She was my teammate and roommate for two
years when I came to play for Stevenson University. She has been a
great influence in my basketball career as well as in my life. She
was our leading scorer last season and I hope to follow in her
footsteps. She has started her coaching
career at Towson University where she is a volunteer assistant with
the women's basketball team.
If you could give
one piece of advice to elementary school children, what would that
advice be? One piece of advice I would give
to elementary children is to follow your dreams. When you're a
child in elementary school, you have all the options in the world
and just need to work for what you want in life. Anything is
possible.
What is your
favorite form of entertainment? My favorite form of
entertainment is playing sports. I have played softball, soccer,
basketball and volleyball in addition to horseback riding. I love
anything competitive and will continue to play sports for the rest
of my life.
Outside of the
Capital Athletic Conference, who or what is your favorite sports
person or team? My favorite team is the
Baltimore Ravens. I love watching football with my family and
friends.
Name three (3)
people, real or fictional, living or dead, that you'd like to have
dinner with? I would like to have dinner with
Ray Rice, Channing Tatum, and
Spongebob Squarepants. Ray Rice is my favorite
player on the Ravens' team. He a young player and has so much
potential. Channing Tatum is a great actor. I enjoy the movies he
plays in and I would just like to meet him in person. Finally,
Spongebob Squarepants is one of my favorite TV shows and it would
be so much fun to have dinner with a fictional character like him.
