Five players from the Capital Athletic Conference, led by Salisbury University seniors Gabby Long and Nicole Massarelli, were named to the 2009 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region team.

Long, Massarelli and freshman Chelsea Glowacki were named to the All-Region honorable mention list, helped lead Salisbury to a 32-5 overall record, its third-straight CAC championship and to the third round of the NCAA playoffs.

Also on the All-Region honorable mention list was CAC Player of the Year Anne Lutkenhaus from second-place University of Mary Washington and senior hitter Justine Jeter from Gallaudet University, which finished third in the CAC regular season and won the 2009 ECAC South Tournament championship.

All five were previously named to the All-CAC team.  Lutkenhaus and Long were first-team All-CAC honorees while Glowacki, Massarelli and Jeter were second-team conference all-stars.
