Marymount Hosts The First Of Four "Dig Pink" Events For CAC Volleyball Teams

Marymount University hosted cross-town non-conference rival Trinity (D.C.) Thursday (7 p.m.) in the first of four "Dig Pink" volleyball events this month to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
Many NCAA collegiate volleyball teams, suppored by an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) initiative, will sponsor "Dig Pink" events to support Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), which offers various programs to help those fighting the disease and also provides information and support for family and friends.
Marymount coach Beth Ann Wilson reported the event raised more than $600 for LBBC, and the home crowd was supportive of the Saints' 3-0 win over Trinity.
On Oct. 7, Stevenson University and Salisbury University will combine for a promotional event during their regularly-scheduled CAC match at Salisbury (7 p.m.).
The University of Mary Washington will take the court for LBBC on Oct. 25 when the Eagles host Lynchburg.
York College of Pa. is also hosting a "Dig Pink" event on Oct. 29, when non-league rival Goucher College visits the Grumbacher Center.
