Six CAC Players Named To 2008 NFCA All-Atlantic Region Team

Salisbury's Kelly Waskewicz, Stacy Malarkey and Villa Julie's Elizabeth Perriman were first team choices and among six CAC players named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Atlantic Region team.

Waskewicz was chosen as a first-team shortstop while Malarkey earned recognition as an at-large selection for the Sea Gulls, who posted a 33-7 overall record and won the CAC championship.  SU is hoping to gain a Pool B bid to the 2008 NCAA Championship Tournament.

Perriman gained first-team all-region honors as the designated player for Villa Julie, which finished 14-16 overall and advanced to the semifinal round of the 2008 CAC double-elimination championship tournament.

The first-team players from each of the eight regions will be considered for the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced later this month.

Salisbury's Kristen Lord (second team), Lauren Brenneman (second team) and Stacy Davis (third team) were also named to the All-Atlantic Region team as at-large choices.
