Salisbury Runs The Table To Capture 11th-Straight CAC Softball Championship

Shortstop Kelly Waskewicz went 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in the championship game to lead host Salisbury to an 8-0 win in six innings over Mary Washington to capture the 2008 CAC Softball crown.
The top-seeded Sea Gulls went undefeated in three games through the winner's bracket and improved to 28-7 for the season, winning their 11th-straight CAC championship.
SU scored twice in the first inning against UMW, then finished the game with three in the fourth, one in the fifth and a two-run triple to right by catcher Lauren Brenneman.
Mary Washington, the No. 3 seed in the double-elimination tournament, posted its 25th win of the season in Sunday's first game by downing fifth-seeded Villa Julie (12-13), 3-2, advancing to the championship game opposite SU.
The Eagles (25-17) erased a 2-1 deficit with solo scores in the fourth and sixth innings to gain the victory. Shortstop Cathy Hull had four of UMW's 12 hits, scored and run and knocked in another in Sunday's two games.
