Eric Halton Salisbury Men's Track & Field Junior Salisbury junior Eric Halton was selected as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after posting the 10th-fastest time in the nation in the 400 meters at the historic Penn Relays. Halton raced to a time of 47.93, which placed him second overall. Halton also helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish in their heat at the Penn Relays, coming home in a time of 3:21.51. Read More

J.R. Lowery Frostburg State Men's Track & Field Senior Frostburg State senior J.R. Lowery earned CAC Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this year after breaking the CAC and Frostburg State records and recording Division III's longest throw of the year in the shot put at the Penn Relays. Lowery's mark of 18.05 meters broke the previous mark of 17.94 meters set by Salisbury's Brandon Fugett in 2009. He is the lone thrower to pass 18 meters in DIII this year In the hammer throw, Lowery took 11th place and defeated eight Division I throwers with a toss of 54.84 meters. It was a season-best distance and landed him in the ECAC Championships for the seventh time in seven meets this spring. Read More

Grayson Reid Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Grayson Reid was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after breaking the school record in the 10,000 meters on Friday at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell. Reid registered a time of 30:18.97 in the event, shaving nearly 40 seconds off the previous school mark of 30:57.84. Jeff Gibson Mary Washington Men's Track & Field Freshman Mary Washington freshman Jeff Gibson earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week accolades for the second time this year after breaking the school record in the 5,000 meters at the George Mason Spring Invitational. Gibson crossed the line in 14:45.77 to take fourth place among 52 finishers in what was primarily a Division I event. His time ranks atop the CAC by nearly eight seconds and is 11th nationally. He placed eighth overall and first among DIII competitors in the discus with a throw of 48.70 meters, moving him to eighth in the NCAA this season. Read More

Jeff Dover Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Jeff Dover earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year after breaking two records at the Colonial Relays over the weekend at William & Mary. On Friday, he established a new CAC record in the 1500 meters, crossing in 3:50.83. His time shaved a full second off the previous CAC mark of 3:51.83, set by Salisbury's George Martinez in 2016. He finished fourth overall and first among DIII competitors in the 1500. It also marked the second-fastest clocking in CNU history and equaled the second-fastest mark in the NCAA this year. On Saturday, Dover returned to the track for another record-setting run as a member of the 4x1500. He helped lead CNU's top foursome to a time of 16:02.20, which beat the previous school record of 16:03.41, which was set last year. It also marked the sixth-fastest clocking at the meet and the finest effort by a Division III squad. Read More

Lowery secured CAC Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week after recording the top-three marks nationally in both the shot put and hammer throw at the Jim Taylor Invitational. Lowery won the shot put with a throw of 17.17 meters, good for the top mark in Division III so far this spring. Lowery opened his outdoor season with victories in the shot put (16.21m) and hammer throw (52.15m). Jordan Roach Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Jordan Roach was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after posting the top time in the conference in the 110-hurdles at the Tribe Invitational. Roach placed second overall and first among Division III competitors in the 110-hurdles, clocking in at 15.49. That time ranks 17th in the nation this spring. He also registered the meet's top distance in the long jump with a 6.70-meter leap. That effort also leads the conference and ranks 12th in the country so far this year. Read More

Matthew Millemann Salisbury Track & Field Sophomore Salisbury sophomore Michael Millemann was honored as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after securing a victory in the javelin throw at the Lloyd Sigler Meet this past Saturday. Millemann captured the first-place finish after recording a throw of 161'-10", beating the second-place finisher by over 20 feet. Read More

Ryan Scott Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Ryan Scott was selected as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week for the second this year after making his way into the top-10 nationally in the 60-hurdles at the George Mason Last Chance Meet and winning three events at the Roanoke Final Qualifier during a busy week. At George Mason, he posted a personal-best time of 8.13 in the hurdles, which places him seventh in the NCAA this year and ranks as the third-fastest clocking in CNU history. One week later, he captured three titles at Roanoke. During the meet, he won the 60 (6.95), 60-hurdles (8.23), and 200 (22.22) to round out his week. Read More

Matthew Adedeji Salisbury Men's Track & Field Junior Salisbury junior Matthew Adedeji was honored as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after breaking the school record and placing first in the triple jump at the Vince Brown Invitational. Adedeji captured victory with a distance of 46'-7.25", besting the previous school mark by 1.25 inches. His mark ranks second in the CAC this season and 13th in Division III. He also earn a top-five finish in the high jump, finishing in a tie for fifth with a height of 6'-.75". Read More

Sam Murch Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Sam Murch was awarded as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after establishing a new school record and posting the top time in the CAC this season in the 3,000 meters at the Vince Brown Invitational on Saturday at the Freeman Center. Murch won the event in 8:33.49, which shaved nearly three seconds off the previous CNU standard of 8:36.10 that was established by David Woodson in 2008. His clocking is also five seconds faster than the second-best mark in the CAC this year and ranks first in the South / Southeast Region and 20th in the NCAA. Read More

Zach Schmelz Salisbury Men's Track & Field Junior Salisbury junior Zach Schmelz was selected as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after notching three top-10 finishes at the Patriot Games. In his first event of the day, the 200-meter dash, Schmelz finished just fractions of a second behind the top three finishers to place fourth in a time of 22.92 seconds. He followed that up with a another fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 50.54. His 400 time ranks second in the CAC and 34th in Division III. In the 4x400 relay, Schmelz helped the Sea Gulls capture a first-place finish in 3:23.41. The 4x400 time ranks atop the conference and seventh nationally. Read More

Dominique Torres Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Senior Christopher Newport senior Dominique Torres was tabbed as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after posting the 10th-best time in Division III in the triple jump at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Saturday at Liberty. Torres secured a distance of 14.26 meters to take fourth overall and first among Division III competitors. His mark is the longest in the CAC this year. Read More

Wesley Shrieves Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Wesley Shrieves was named the CAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after breaking his one-week-old CAC mark in the indoor long jump at the Captains Invitational on Saturday. He tacked nearly seven inches onto his old record after winning the event with a 7.25-meter effort. That performance not only broke his old conference record of 7.08 meters, but it also ranks third in the nation this year. Along with his long jump, Shrieves placed second in the triple jump (13.15 meters), third in the high jump (1.90 meters), and fourth in the 60 (7.05). Greg Taylor Wesley Men's Track & Field Senior Wesley senior Greg Taylor was tabbed as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after recording the top times in the CAC in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the Terrapin Invitational on Saturday. Taylor placed second in the 60 at 6.95 and fourth in the 200 at 22.73. His 60 time ranks 13th in the nation, while his 200 mark ranks 34th. Read More

Ryan Scott Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Ryan Scott was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles at the CNU Quadrangular on Friday at the Freeman Center. In the hurdles, he posted a time of 8.27, which ranks as the fastest time in the CAC this year and the fifth-fastest mark in the NCAA. He also posted a time of 7.09 in the 60, which equaled the top clocking in the CAC this season. It also ranks 39th in the country. Read More

Wesley Shrieves Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Wesley Shrieves was named the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after breaking the CAC record in the long jump at the CNU Quadrangular. Shrieves won the event with a distance of 7.08 meters, establishing a new standard in the CAC. His jump broke the previous mark of 7.05 meters set by teammate Dominique Torres in 2014. Additionally, Shrieves equaled the top clearance in the high jump during the meet after topping 1.95 meters, a personal record. David Danek Mary Washington Men's Track & Field Junior Mary Washington freshman David Danek was selected as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after turning in a first-place finish in his first collegiate meet for the Eagles. Danek won the high jump at the Roanoke Bast-Cregger Invitational with a leap of 1.95 meters. His mark currently ranks 14th in Division III. Read More

Jeff Dover Christopher Newport Men's Track & Field Junior Christopher Newport junior Jeff Dover was honored as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after leading all Division III competitors in both the mile and 3,000 during the CNU Holiday Open on Sunday at the Freeman Center. In the mile, he finished second overall with a time of 4:15.58. In the 3,000, he was also the overall runner-up after crossing in 8:38.40. Both of those times rank third in CNU history and were the fastest marks registered by a Division III runner in the nation last weekend. Read More
