Mary Washington Stops Salisbury, 8-1, To Win 9th-Straight CAC Men's Tennis Title

Mary Washington juniors John James and Jason Dunn overcame first-set losses to win at the No. 1 and No. 3 singles positions and lead the seventh-ranked Eagles to a 7-2 decision over 22nd-ranked Salisbury (16-5) in the 2008 CAC Men's Tennis Championship Match Sunday.

The Eagles (20-6), the second seed in the tournament, avenged a regular-season setback to the top-seeded Sea Gulls and earned the CAC's automatic berth in the 2008 NCAA Championship Tournament for the ninth-straight year.

Randy Loden and Evan Goff each won in singles and doubles competition for the Eagles, who won two of three doubles matches, then secured the title by winning five of six singles matches.

Evan Thomas won at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles with Matt Nicholson for the Sea Gulls.
