The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swim teams
achieved four NCAA provisional qualifying times in day one of the
University of Maryland Terrapin Invitational on Thursday. The men
are currently in fifth place, ahead of three Division I
schools.
Among the provisional qualifying standards reached on Thursday,
junior Sarah Crockett finished in 15th place in the 500 yard
freestyle with a time of 5:00.41, just .38 away from an automatic
qualifying standard. Senior Nina Sawyer achieved a provisional cut
in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:10.25.
The women's 400 medley relay, consisting of Sawyer, Megan DeSmit,
Adriana Lesiuk, and Crockett, finished 11th with an NCAA B cut of
3:55.15.
For the men, junior Stephen Clendenin finished sixth in the 200 IM
with a time of 1:55.02.
