Mary Washington Freshman Stephen Clendenin Competes At 2008 NCAA Men's Swimming And Diving Championships

Mary Washington freshman Stephen Clendenin finished 17th in the 400 IM and 20th in the 200 backstroke at the 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

On Thursday, Clendenin finished 45th in the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.58. He will continue in the NCAA Championships on Saturday.

Saturday, Clendenin improved his career best with a time of 1:53.82, finishing in 20th place in the 200 yard backstroke.

Clendenin completes a very successful season, which saw him gain Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, and swim in three events at the NCAA Championships.
