York College Men's Soccer Ready To Step It Up In Sweet 16

Playing its best soccer of the season, York College enters this weekend's NCAA Division III men's sectionals in a familiar situation.
The Spartans have been to the Sweet 16 before -- twice in the past three years in fact.
Plus, No. 2 York is coming off a pair of stellar performances. The Spartans outscored opponents by a combined 8-0 in the opening two rounds and now boast a 17-1-4 record.
Spartans coach Mark Ludwig was particularly pleased with his squad's communication and movement off the ball last weekend, but he knows things will only get harder when the Spartans face sixth-ranked Williams College (16-2-1) in Saturday's first game, beginning at 11 a.m. at Graham Field.
"The challenge to the guys is to play better this week then they did last week," he said. "At times they have showed that this week in training. Hopefully they will be ready to bring everything they have on Saturday.
"We have been at this level several times. It is going to take that little bit extra from every single player."
The 1:30 p.m. game of the sectional doubleheader will pit Christopher Newport (19-2-1) against Stevens Institute (17-3-1).
Saturday's winners will be back at York on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff with a trip to San Antonio and the Final Four in two weeks awaiting the victor.
