January 4, 2010 Nine CAC Soccer Players Named To NSCAA All-East Region Scholar Team

Nine Capital Athletic Conference soccer players, including seven from Stevenson University, were named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-East Region Scholar Team.

Salisbury University senior defender Justin McGrath was a third-team choice on the men's All-East Region Scholar Team.  McGrath is a senior biology major boasting a 3.87 grade point average.

Honorable Mention recognition went to eight players, including five women and two men from Stevenson as well as one player from the University of Mary Washington. 

Senior midfielder Katie Decker and senior defender Vinny Caltabiano led the Stevenson contingent.  Juniors representing Stevenson on the All-East Region Scholar team include defender Sean Scarselletta from the men's team along with defenders Kaitlyn Amos, Brittany Bangert, Allison Humphries and forward Heather Redding from the Mustangs' women's squad.

Junior Sarah Tryon, a midfielder for the CAC champion Mary Washington Eagles, was also an Honorable Mention selection on the All-East Region Scholar women's team.
