UMW's Roy Gordon Records 400th Career Victory with 8-0 Shutout of Gallaudet

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Freshmen Matt Davis and Kohl Meyer each scored a pair of goals to lead the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team to an 8-0 win over Gallaudet University on Thursday afternoon at the Battleground. UMW head coach Roy Gordon surpassed the 400-win plateau with the victory.

The Eagles led, 3-0, at halftime, with goals from Tommy DiNuzzo (9:12), Ryan Taibl (19:14), and Matt Lawrey (43:13). The second half saw Davis score at 55:33, and Meyer score at 64:36 and 67:41. Vincent Kooijman added a goal at 68:43, and Davvis scored the capper at 75:31.

The Eagles outshot the Bison, 33-1, and had 15 corner kicks to none for the guests.

Gordon, in his 31st year at UMW, now owns a 400-231-47 overall record, and is one of just eight coaches in all of NCAA Division III men's soccer with 400 wins.

UMW will play October 17 at Marymount University at 6:00 p.m.
