October 8, 2009 Hood Men's Lacrosse Team To Host Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament

The Hood College men's lacrosse team will host a Breast Cancer Awareness Fall Tournament Saturday, Oct. 17, at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers will host Delaware Tech Community College, Virginia Tech and Howard Community College in a six-game tournament on Hood's brand-new turf field, which saw its first game action Sept. 1, 2009.

Admission and parking for the event are free, and 100% of the donations received at the gate will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Maryland. Additionally, Hood College students will be selling breast cancer t-shirts, key chains, bracelets and shoelaces.

All four teams will be wearing the tournament t-shirts and pink shoelaces in their cleats to show their support for this worthy cause.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

10 a.m. Delaware Tech vs. Howard CC
11 a.m. Hood vs. Virginia Tech
Noon Hood vs. Delaware Tech
1 p.m. Howard CC vs. Virginia Tech
2 p.m. Delaware Tech vs. Virginia Tech
3 p.m. Hood vs. Howard CC
