Villa Julie Visits Salisbury Sunday In CAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Match
Defending NCAA champion Salisbury, which has won all 13 CAC championships since joining the conference for the 1994-95 season, will host 10th-ranked Villa Julie Sunday at 1 p.m. for the 2008 CAC Championship.
The undefeated Sea Gulls (16-0) advanced to their 14th-straight CAC title contest with a 20-7 victory over fifth-seeded York (9-7) in Thursday's semifinal round.
Villa Julie (12-3) will play in its first CAC title game after gaining a 15-5 semifinal win over Mary Washington Thursday.
The championship game will pit teams that played to a 13-12 SU decision on April 5 at VJ's Owings Mills campus.
In the regular-season meeting, the Gulls finished the first quarter with a 6-0 lead, but VJ bounced back to even the match 6-6 at halftime. The Mustangs held several two-goal leads in the second half before SU scored four of the last five goals in the fourth quarter to gain the victory.
