Both Salisbury Lacrosse Teams Remain Undefeated With Key Non-Conference Wins

The top-ranked Salisbury men's lacrosse team rallied from a give-goal deficit to defeat second-ranked Gettysburg, and the second-ranked Salisbury women's team upended top-ranked Franklin & Marshall in a re-match of the 2007 national championship game, highlighting Saturday's Capital Athletic Conference lacrosse action.
The #1-ranked Sea Gulls' men's team rallied from a 7-2 deficit at second-ranked Gettysburg to post an 11-8 victory and remain undefeated headed into April. Mike Von Kamecke netted two of SU's five even-strength goals in the last six minutes of the match as the 11-0 Gulls shocked the host Bullets.
14th-ranked Villa Julie gradually pulled away from host Wesley for a 15-4 win to set up next Saturday's (4/5) matchup between the two undefeated teams in CAC play. Salisbury (4-0 CAC) will visit Owings Mills for a first-place battle against the Mustangs (7-2, 3-0 CAC), beginning at 2 p.m.
On the women's side, Salisbury exacted some revenge against F&M with a 9-7 triumph over the defending national champion Diplomats. Jessica Chmielewski contributed two goals and an assist to lead SU while Sue Ackermann and Kim Cudmore both added two scores.
In other action, St. Mary's outlasted Villa Julie, 13-10 and Marymount gained a 12-8 non-conference win over Bridgewater. The Saints (7-4, 5-0 CAC) will host SMC (7-3, 3-0 CAC) Wednesday in a battle of unbeatens, and both will host Salisbury (13-0, 5-0 CAC) in the next three weeks.
