Dimitri Rucker Marymount Men's Basketball Junior Marymount junior Dimitri Rucker was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging a double-double for the Saints and guiding them to two crucial victories to seal up a spot in the CAC playoffs. Rucker averaged 13.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per contest in wins over Mary Washington and Penn State Harrisburg, helping the Saints clinch the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the CAC postseason. Against UMW, Rucker tallied a team-high 14 points along with nine boards and a game-high four blocks. He followed that up with a double-double on 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds against Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday. Read More

Wyatt Smith Salisbury Men's Basketball Senior Salisbury senior Wyatt Smith was selected as the CAC Player of the Week for the third time this season after averaging a double-double in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. In victories over Penn State Harrisburg and Southern Virginia, Smith averaged 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds while adding 2.0 blocks and 1.5 assists per game. He also shot a stellar 90.9% (10-for-11) from the free throw line, helping the Sea Gulls clinch a top-two seed and first-round bye in the CAC postseason. Read More

Tim Daly Christopher Newport Men's Basketball Senior Christopher Newport senior Tim Daly was named the CAC Player of the Week after nearly averaging a double-double in a 2-0 week for the third-ranked Captains. In victories over Mary Washington and St. Mary's, Daly averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting 72.7% (16-of-22) from the field. Against St. Mary's, he set a new career high with 28 points to go along with 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. He added 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest for the week. LaVonte Sanders St. Mary's Men's Basketball Junior St. Mary's junior LaVonte Sanders was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 CAC week for the Seahawks. Sanders began the week with season-bests of 19 points and three blocks while also grabbing five rebounds in an 86-78 home win over Wesley. He followed up that performance with 15 points and a game-high nine boards in a 85-63 home triumph against Marymount. Sanders shot 52.4% (11-for-21) from the field for the week and notched 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest. Read More

Matt Scamuffo York Men's Basketball Junior York junior Matt Scamuffo was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 31.5 points per game on 59.4% (19-for-32) shooting from the floor and 87.5% shooting (14-for-16) from the free throw line in a 1-1 week for the Spartans. Scamuffo also knocked down 5.5 three-pointers per game at a 47.8% (11-for-23) clip. He began the week by tying his career-high with 32 points and draining seven three-pointers in the Spartans' 88-84 win at St. Mary's. In Saturday's game at Mary Washington, Scamuffo tossed in 31 points with four triples and three assists. Read More

Blayde Reich York Men's Basketball Junior York junior Blayde Reich was named the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a 2-0 week including an upset win over 12th-ranked Salisbury on Saturday. In the first game of the week, a 14-point win at Frostburg State, Reich tallied 16 points, four rebounds, a block, a steal and an assist as York snapped a five-game losing streak at Bobcat Arena. In the upset win over the Sea Gulls, Reich converted a three-point play with 39 seconds left to give the Spartans the lead. He tallied 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor while he also went 6-for-7 from the free throw line. Reich also grabbed six rebounds and had a pair of steals for York. For the week, Reich averaged 17 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 47.8% from the floor and went 12-for-13 (92.3%) from the line. Read More

Justin Witmer Salisbury Men's Basketball Senior Salisbury senior Justin Witmer was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 19.3 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 three-pointers per game in a 3-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Witmer began the week with career-highs of 26 points and seven assists against Washington College, shooting 8-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-6 from downtown. In a CAC win at Mary Washington, Witmer notched 14 points and four rebounds. He closed out the week with 18 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range against Frostburg State, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five more assists. Read More

Marcus Carter Christopher Newport Men's Basketball Junior Christopher Newport junior Marcus Carter was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Captains to a 3-0 week and earning MVP honors at the Captains Shootout. Carter averaged 15.7 points on 60.7% shooting while recording 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. He also shot well from beyond the arc, adding 2.0 three-pointers per contest at a 54.5% clip. Wyatt Smith Salisbury Men's Basketball Senior Salisbury senior Wyatt Smith was named the CAC Player of the Week after scoring a game-high 17 points, pulling down eight rebounds, and blocking a career-high five shots in the 10th-ranked Sea Gulls' dramatic 59-58 victory over fifth-ranked Christopher Newport on Saturday. Smith came on strongest in the second half, scoring 11, grabbing six boards, and blocking three shots, helping Salisbury to come back from a 10-point deficit. Smith's putback with just over four minutes remaining, which became a three-point play, gave Salisbury its first lead of the second half. Read More

Rasahn Brinkley Wesley Men's Basketball Senior Wesley senior Rasahn Brinkley was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after notching 19 points and 15 rebounds in a comeback victory over Frostburg State on Sunday. Trailing by four points at halftime, Brinkley provided a spark off the bench following the intermission, tallying 13 points and 10 rebounds in the second half to help the Wolverines to a 21-point victory. Smith opened the week with 22 points, six boards and two blocks in a 64-59 win over St. Mary's, before posting his third double-double of the year with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 70-39 triumph at Penn State Harrisburg. Delaszo Smith St. Mary's Men's Basketball Junior St. Mary's junior Delaszo Smith was named the CAC Player of the Week after guiding the Seahawks to a 2-0 week with averages of 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 three-pointers, and 1.5 steals per contest. The highlight of the week was season-bests of 26 points and seven rebounds in the win over Greensboro while shooting near perfect at the free throw line with a 10-of-11 effort. He connected on a season-high three triples at Gallaudet. Smith shot 40.7% from the floor, including 50% from behind the three-point line, and 94.1% at the free throw line. Read More
