    Southern Virginia University Vice President of Athletics Jason Lamb today named Greg Winslow the seventh head men's basketball coach in the University's history. Winslow, who has over two decades of coaching experience, served as the assistant men's basketball coach under Tony Caputo for two of the past three seasons.

    Christopher Newport's Aaron McFarland and York's Dalton Myers were named to the D3hoops.com Middle Atlantic All-Region First Team while York head coach Matt Hunter and Mary Washington's Drew Johnson earned major awards, the organization announced on Tuesday. Hunter was selected as the Co-Coach of the Year, with Johnson collecting Rookie of the Year accolades.

    For the third-straight year, Christopher Newport claimed two of the three major awards to headline the 2018 All-CAC Men's Basketball team. CNU senior guard Aaron McFarland became the third-straight Captain to win Player of the Year, while head coach John Krikorian was voted Coach of the Year for the third year in a row. Mary Washington freshman forward Drew Johnson rounded out the major award winners as Rookie of the Year.

    York College senior men's basketball forward Dalton Myers has been named as one of ten finalists for the 2018 Jostens Trophy. The Jostens Trophy is awarded to the outstanding NCAA Division III men’s and women’s basketball players who excel on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.  This season marks the 21st presentation of the awards, with the inaugural trophies bestowed in 1998.

York will be making its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance and first since the 2011-12 season, while CNU will be making its third-straight and 22nd overall NCAA Tournament appearance.

  • Christopher Newport Sophomore Cutch Ellis Named CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

    Christopher Newport sophomore Cutch Ellis was named the CAC Player of the Week after posting a pair of double-doubles in wins over Mary Washington and York, helping the Captains clinch the No. 1 seed in the CAC Tournament. Ellis averaged 19.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 three-pointers, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. He set new career highs with 19 points and 13 points in a 75-71 win at Mary Washington, before matching his career-best 19 points and adding a dozen rebounds in a 81-71 home victory over York that sealed the top seed in this week's CAC Tournament. The pair of double-doubles marked the first of Ellis' career as a Captain.

    Wesley sophomore Brian Cameron was named the CAC Player of the Week for the second time this year after registering a pair of double-doubles, averaging 22.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest, and hitting a game-winning three-pointer from near halfcourt in a 2-0 week for the Wolverines. Cameron opened the week with 29 points, 10 boards, six assists and three steals in a 72-65 victory at Marymount on Wednesday. He followed that up with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a 68-66 win against Mary Washington, including hitting the game-winning three-pointer as time expired.

    Salisbury topped first-place and seventh-ranked York 83-75 to headline Saturday's CAC men's basketball action, setting up a thrilling final week of the CAC regular season. With just two CAC games remaining for each squad prior to the CAC Tournament, four teams have clinched playoff spots, with plenty of seeding yet-to-be-determined this week. 
  • Mary Washington Junior Khiorie Stewart Tabbed as CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

    Mary Washington junior Khiorie Stewart was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a pair of CAC wins with averages of 17.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal per game while shooting 73.7% from the field and 62.5% from three-point land in just 18.0 minutes per game. Stewart shot 5-for-8 from the field en route to 12 points in a 68-54 win at St. Mary's on Wednesday. He then erupted for 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including 13 straight in the middle of the second half, to help spur the Eagles to a 91-70 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday. For the week, he was 14-for-19 from the field and 5-for-8 on three-pointers. 
  • Frostburg State Senior Tyler Michael Honored as CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

    Frostburg State senior Tyler Michael was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points on 63.3% shooting, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week that included a victory over seventh-ranked York. In the Bobcats' 95-85 win against the nationally-ranked Spartans, Michael posted a well-rounded stat line of 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a season-high four steals. He closed out the week with a 31-point outburst on 14-of-19 shooting in a 76-72 win at St. Mary's, adding five rebounds, a season-high four assists, a steal and a block. 
  • Salisbury Senior Chad Barcikowski Selected as CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

    Salisbury senior Chad Barcikowski was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per game in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Barcikowski opened the week with his second double-double of the year in a 84-68 home win over Wesley, tallying 14 points, 11 boards and seven assists while also adding four steals and two blocks. He then closed out the week with 17 points, five assists and four rebounds in an 80-68 victory at Penn State Harrisburg. Barcikowski currently ranks fifth in the CAC in scoring at 16.2 points per game. 
  • Salisbury Junior Blair Davis Earns CAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

    Salisbury junior Blair Davis earned CAC Player of the Week recognition after averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Davis was efficient with his shot, shooting 58.3% (14-for-24) from the field, 50% (3-for-6) from three-point range and 80% (8-for-10) from the free throw line. He opened the week with a then-season-high of 18 points along with three assists and two three-pointers in a 73-50 triumph over St. Mary's. Davis closed out the week with season-highs of 21 points and nine rebounds while registering four steals in a 83-75 road win at Southern Virginia. He provided crucial scoring down the stretch in the win over SVU, scoring 14 points in the second half including six points in the final 1:37 to seal the victory. 
  • Mary Washington Freshman Drew Johnson Receives CAC Men's Basketball Weekly Award

    Mary Washington freshman Drew Johnson was named the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 three-pointers per contest in a 2-0 CAC week for the Eagles. Johnson opened the week with a team-high 25 points on 61.5% (8-for-13) shooting from the field including 70% (7-for-10) from three-point land in an 88-84 home win against Wesley. He added eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in the win. Johnson closed out the week with 12 points, nine boards, three steals and two three-pointers in a 77-74 road win at Penn State Harrisburg. For the week, he shot 54.5% (12-for-22) from the floor and 56.3% (9-for-16) from downtown. 
  • York Senior Blayde Reich Collects CAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

    York senior Blayde Reich was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after earning MVP honors at the Washington & Lee Holiday Tournament with averages of 29.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game in overtime wins against No. 2 Middlebury and Washington & Lee.
  • Wesley Senior Paul Clemons Named CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
    December 26, 2017
    Wesley senior Paul Clemons was named the CAC Player of the Week after posting a 28-point, 13-rebound effort in the Wolverines' 82-75 victory over Immaculata. Clemons shot 9-of-11 (81.8%) from the field and 10-of-11 (90.9%) from the free throw line in the victory while also adding four assists and a steal. He scored 17 of his points in the second half, including eight points in the final six minutes to help Wesley pull away down the stretch. 
  • Wesley Sophomore Brian Cameron Selected as CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
    December 18, 2017
    Wesley sophomore Brian Cameron was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.3 three-pointers per contest while shooting 65% (13-for-20) from beyond the arc in a 2-1 week for the Wolverines. Cameron's top performance came in a 105-94 win over Hood in the opening game of the Cregger Invitational, scoring 28 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 from three-point range while also adding six rebounds and two steals. He was named to the Cregger Invitational All-Tournament team for his efforts. Cameron has scored in double figures in eight of Wesley's nine games this season, and currently leads the CAC in scoring with 20.8 points per game. 
  • York Senior Dalton Myers Earns CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award
    December 11, 2017
    York senior Dalton Myers earned CAC Player of the Week honors after averaging 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 53.6% from the floor and 42.9% from three-point land in a 2-0 week for the unbeaten Spartans. Myers started the week with a season-high 28 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the year in the win over Frostburg State. Myers was 10-for-16 from the floor, 1-for-3 from three and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. In the road win over Marymount on Saturday, Myers notched 14 points, six rebounds, a season-high four assists and a blocked shot.
