Capital Athletic Conference men's basketball rivals Hood College ad St. Mary's College of Md. will square off on a live TV broadcast Sunday (11/22) when WBAL TV in Baltimore televises the championship game of the 2009 Pride of Maryland Tournament from Goucher College at 6:30 p.m.
Hood posted wins over Washington (Md.) College (58-55) and Johns Hopkins (65-62) while defending CAC regular-season champion St. Mary's stopped McDaniel (83-56) and CAC foe Salisbury (78-76) to advance to the championship game.
The title game will be available on WBAL Plus which is available on digital 11-2, Comcast 208 and Verizon Fios 460.
The game will be produced by Jomar Productions in Parkton under the direction of Mark Gambo. Steve Stofberg and Bryan McLean will be providing the play-by-play and color commentary from Goucher's Sports and Recreation Center.
Now in its fifth year, the Pride of Maryland Tournament features the men's basketball teams from the nine NCAA Division III schools in the state of Maryland battling for bragging rights. St. Mary's (Md.) won their first-ever Pride of Maryland championship with a come-from-behind 84-81 victory over Johns Hopkins at Stevenson's Student Union Gymnasium.
