Nine players from the Capital Athletic Conference, including four from the CAC champion and NCAA semifinalist Salisbury, were named to the 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-South Region team.
Salisbury sophomore defender Tara McGovern, the 2009 CAC Player of the Year, along with teammates Beverly Beledino and Lauren Correll, were named to the all-region first team while Michelle Rowe represented the Sea Gulls on the second team.
Wesley College forward Brooke Tadlock and Stevenson University goalie Kara Zimmerman were first-team all-region selections, giving the CAC five players on the top squad.
Joining Rowe on the second team were Lauriann Parker of St. Mary's College along with Emma Jones and Jaci Marshall, both of the University of Mary Washington.
All nine players were previously named to the 2009 All-CAC team.
