The Salisbury University field hockey team started to prepare for its trip to South Hadley, Mass., and the Division III NCAA tournament semifinals in earnest Tuesday.
Even in advance of the grand stage, SU coach Dawn Chamberlin treated the outing just like any other day as she directed her team's first practice in preparation for Saturday's match-up against Tufts.
"I don't believe in changing what we have been doing," Chamberlin said. "We've been very successful all year, and we are just going to continue to do the things we do well."
What SU has done well this season is win. The Gulls have an 18-1 record after defeating the previously unbeaten SUNY Cortland in the third round of the NCAA tournament last week. They've outscored their opponents 80-11. Still, the Sea Gulls should see a lot of themselves in their semifinal opponent, as Tufts carries an identical 18-1 record and has outscored its adversaries 78-11.
