Salisbury's Eric Willey, Kelly Waskewicz, Sue Ackermann And Kylor Berkman Win ECAC Awards

Salisbury's Eric Willey, Kelly Waskewicz, Sue Ackermann And Kylor Berkman were honored with special awards as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its baseball, softball and men's lacrosse post-season teams.

On the diamonds, Willey was named the ECAC South Baseball Pitcher of the Year and Waskewicz was named the ECAC South Softball Player of the Year. 

On the field, Ackermann was named the ECAC Metro/South Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year while Berkman was tabbed as the ECAC Metro/South Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year.

All four players led their respective Sea Gull teams to 2008 CAC championships. 

The SU baseball team advanced to the NCAA regional championship game before finishing with a 41-4 overall record.  The Gulls' softball team did not gain an NCAA playoff berth despite a 32-7 overall record. 

The women's lacrosse team, with a 22-1 overall record, advanced to the NCAA semifinals before falling to eventual national champion Hamilton by a 11-10 margin.  The SU men's lacrosse team won its second-straight NCAA crown, and fourth in the last five years, with a 22-0 record.

Salisbury sophomore catcher Lauren Brenneman joined Waskewicz as a first-team ECAC South softball all-star while junior pitcher Stacy Davis was selected as a second-team South all-star.

In men's lacrosse, senior attack Matt Hickman and senior defender Ben Sandlin were named to the ECAC Metro/South all-star team with Berkman.  On the women's Metro/South squad, senior defender Kelly Phillips earned ECAC first-team post-season recognition with Ackermann.
