The Hood College athletic department welcomed 23 new inductees and six returning honorees into the 2012 class of Chi Alpha Sigma, the nation's first scholar-athlete honor society, in a ceremony at the Coblentz Seminar Room Sunday afternoon.
A total of eight seniors and 15 juniors comprised the 2012 induction class, representing the fourth Hood College class to earn this prestigious honor. Inductees must maintain at least a 3.4 cumulative grade-point average as a junior or senior and have earned a varsity letter in their sport.
In addition, six seniors from the 2011 class were recognized as well for meeting the academic requirements once again in 2011-12.
