Sophomore Adria Graham and junior
Ryan Russell captured the Female and
Male Athlete of the Year awards, respectively, at the 2011-12
Frostburg State University Athletics Awards Banquet held last night
in Bobcat Arena.
Graham had a stellar sophomore campaign for the Bobcats after
capturing CAC Player of the Year and first-team all-conference
honors last fall. She led the CAC in scoring with 18 goals after
finding the net in 12 different contests. Graham helped FSU to the
2011 ECAC South Championship and was awarded First Team ECAC
All-Star and NSCAA All-Region First Team honors.
Russell burst on the scene in his first year as a Bobcat and helped
turn the men's soccer program into a CAC contender in 2011. Russell
was named the CAC Player of the Year and earned Second Team NSCAA
All-South Atlantic Region honors. He led the CAC in goals (16),
posted six game-winning goals and was a consistent scoring threat
having found the net in 12 of 15 regular-season games. Russell
helped the men's soccer team to the CAC Tournament and was selected
as the team's Most Valuable Player.
