York junior outfielder JOE DOYLE (Stewartstown, Pa./Red Lion), Salisbury senior attackman JAKE DeLILLO (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), St. Mary's freshman midfielder LAURIANN PARKER (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) and Hood freshman pitcher/outfielder ERIN McNALLY (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) were selected as the CAC Athletes of the Week for April 12, 2010.
BASEBALL
York junior outfielder JOE DOYLE (Stewartstown, Pa./Red Lion) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to two wins in three games against sixth-ranked Salisbury. Doyle was 5-for-11 for a .455 batting average with nine RBI, four runs scored, a triple and three home runs, a 1.455 slugging percentage. He had three hits, including two bombs, in a mid-week YCP offensive explosion on the road. Saturday, he was 2-for-3 with a homer in the Spartans' come-from-behind win that helped YCP claim the No. 2 seed in the 2010 CAC playoffs.
MEN'S LACROSSE
Salisbury senior attackman JAKE DeLILLO (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) was named the CAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week after contributing eight points in a pair of CAC wins for the top-ranked Sea Gulls. DeLillo found the net a game-high four times on five shots in a mid-week victory over St. Mary's, handing the Seahawks their first conference setback of the season, then added a goal and three assists in Saturday's victory over Hood.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
St. Mary's freshman midfielder LAURIANN PARKER (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) was named the CAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week after after contributing nine goals and four assists (13 points) in a pair of conference victories that lifted the Seahawks into the No. 3 seed for the 2010 CAC playoffs. Parker had two goals and two assists in a three-goal midweek win at Marymount, then exploded for seven goals and two helpers, along with four draw controls and two ground balls, in SMC's triumph over 17th-ranked Stevenson. Parker nine points equaled 69% of SMC's offense against Stevenson.
SOFTBALL
Hood freshman pitcher/outfielder ERIN McNALLY (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) was named the CAC Softball Player of the Week after hitting .452 with eight runs scored and nine RBI in a 10-game week for the Blazers that included doubleheader sweeps against CAC rivals Mary Washington and Stevenson. McNally had seven multi-hit games and contributed the game-winning double down the left field line in the ninth inning in Game 1 at Stevenson.
