Three CAC Basketball Players Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams

Three CAC basketball players - Gallaudet's Bobby Siebert, Marymount's Amanda Billy and York's April Sparkman - were named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

To qualify for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve on his/her team, at least a sophomore in class and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.

Siebert, a junior international business major with a 4.00 grade point average, was named to the District II Men's College Division All-District second team.

Billy, a junior mathematics major with a 3.64 grade point average, was named to the District III Women's College Division All-District second team.

Sparkman, a junior biology major with a 3.74 grade point average, was named to the District II Women's College Division All-District second team.

District II College Division includes all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA basketball teams from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

District III College Division includes all Division II, Division III and NAIA basketball teams from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Only players selected to the first team in each district advance to the national Academic All-America ballot.
