CAC Names Anderson, Grace And McDowell Nov. 11 Swimmers Of The Week

Mary Washington junior men's swimmer JUSTIN ANDERSON (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton), St. Mary's sophomore men's swimmer GABE GRACE (Baltimore, Md./BPI) and St. Mary's senior women's swimmer BRIE McDOWELL (Doylestown, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) were selected as the CAC Athletes of the Week for Nov. 11, 2008.



Mary Washington junior JUSTIN ANDERSON (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) and St. Mary's sophomore GABE GRACE (Baltimore, Md./BPI) were named the CAC Men's SwimmingCo- Athletes of the Week for Nov. 11, 2008.

Anderson was one of three triple-winners for UMW in a dual-meet victory over York, capturing top honors in the 100 freestyle (49.78), 200 breaststroke (2:21.56) and contributed as a member of the 200 freestyle relay team (1:30.32).

Grace also won three events as the Seahawks split with Hood and Catholic in a tri-meet. The SMC sophomore captured gold in the 100 backstroke (58.01), 200 IM (2:08.85) and contributed to the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:44.09). 



St. Mary's senior BRIE McDOWELL (Doylestown, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week helping the Seahawks to a pair of team wins Saturday. McDowell broke her own school record in the 200 freestyle (1:57.85) by almost a full second, then captured top honors in the 100 backstroke with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 59.42. McDowell also swam the first leg of the victorious 200 medley relay team (1:54.09).
