January 13, 2009 Salisbury Juniors Mike Ferrari And Raienne South Win Weekly Swimming Awards

Salisbury University junior MIKE FERRARI (Columbia, Md./Atholton) and senior RAIENNE SOUTH (Rockville, Md./Magruder) were selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Swimming Athletes of the Week for Jan. 13, 2009.

 

MEN'S SWIMMING

Salisbury junior MIKE FERRARI (Columbia, Md./Atholton) was selected the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning two individual events and contributing to the gold-medal 200 freestyle relay team (1:36.00) in Saturday's victories over Hood and Frostburg St. Ferrari, one of a trio of three-time winners Saturday, captured top honors in the 200 IM (2:12.28) and the 200 breaststroke (2:37.41).

 

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

Salisbury senior RAIENNE SOUTH (Rockville, Md./Magruder) was selected the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning two individual events and contributing to the victorious 200 freestyle relay (1:48.23) in Saturday's victories over Hood and Frostburg St. South touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle (2:06.60) and the 500 freestyle (5:48.59) to help the Sea Gulls improve to 6-3 in dual meets this season.
