Two Lacrosse Marks Set As Salisbury Men And Marymount Women Post Wins Saturday
The No. 1-ranked Salisbury men's lacrosse team broke a record for consecutive victories and Marymount junior SpringAnn Hatfield tied a CAC record for most points in a game as the Saints topped Hood in women's lacrosse.
The top-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team broke its own NCAA record for consecutive regular season victories on Saturday with a 19-3 win on the road against Widener University.
The Sea Gulls have now won 66 straight regular-season games dating back to April 17, 2003.
The old mark, held by SU for 12 years, started on March 11, 1992 with an 8-5 win over Ohio Wesleyan and ended six years later on March 10, 1997 by the Battling Bishops with a 13-10 victory.
In Marymount's 21-4 CAC women's lacrosse win at Hood, Hatfield shared game-high honors with six goals and added seven assists for 13 points, tying the CAC mark for most points in a game.
Salisbury's Amanda Moculski set the original mark with 13 points in a victory over Catholic University in 1999.
